Default apexi V-AFC setup?

hi there, im posting on behalf of a friend who has a 96 reg 1.6 SR civic coupe... he has just bought a V-AFC unit and fitted it but he cant get the setup right. idle is really poor and stalls regularly, and he feels as if when he puts his foot down the engine is being flooded with fuel. does anyone know the correct settings for this paticular vehicle? the only other mod i am aware of is a CAI.

anyone?

cheers. Marko

using a v-afc to tune an engine just with a CAI is not going to give you much of a gain but probably a few horses. Sounds like what he's got going on is to much fuel going in to the motor. I don't know how to use a v-afc and don't have one yet, but tell him to read the instruction and lower the fuel amount going in to the motor, also tell him to get a air/fuel ration guage if he's gonna be doing that kind of tunning.

well if you installed it and then turned the car on u made a mistake. you should have waited to take it to a dyno to get it tuned, unless you know how to prgram it yourself. i heard it was pretty tricky though.

yeah, youll end up killing the power of the engine messing with it yourself. it really needs to be done on a dyno, or at least with a wideband O2 sensor.
