when the car is off the lock switch doesn't open and close the door. the alarm also doesn't open and close it. but when i turn the car on it works. is it because of the battery. i was thinking of getting a yellow top and a higer amp alternator because of my system. im adding subs and another amp soon. should i just get the higher amp alternator or just the yellow top battery?

 

it coulkd be the power door lock motor, i have a 92 civic lx 4dr and ive had a similar problem

 

how much did it cost to fix it? or did you do it urself?

 

i havent done it yet, to lazy lol, but u can get the part at a local junklyard for probably $50, u can do it urself, take off the the driver side door panel and ull spot the motor inside, then jus swap em shouldnt be too hard, but i could be wrong so dont count on me, when ur cars off and u try to open and close the doors do u hear a funny noise comng from inside the door panel?

 

no there is no noise. or maybe i should listen closer? lol

 

yea maybe thats not it, take the car to a shop and let them check the battery for u, it takes a sec and its free of charge with most guys

 

i just got a yellowtop with a stock alternator and i am running a jl 12" with no problems at full power. i really reccomend them to anyone. as far as your other problem i couldnt tell ya i dont have any electrical stuff like that on my ef.

 

now the locks don't work at all and my power windows don't work either.and my stereo dims now. i always had it on auto dim. but it didn'tdim until now.

anytime. off, acc, on. doesnt work.
[:@] one problem after the next ever since last summer. engine replaced(man i wish i had found this site b4 that happened. i wouldnt have gotten the stock engine lol), transmission replaced, finally replaced my stereoafter it was stolenlast summer, new tires,tie rods, axles, and bushings replaced, radiator replaced.

but anyway lol.what do you think the problem is now? i checked and the fuses seem to be ok.
