I have the same engine as you do. Its a nice package, but I'm thinking of getting a y8 head which I think is a 96-up D16 head. What we have now is a Z6 with lower compression. If I can find a Y8 head for cheap I'll do that, but a Z6 is fine. Had it for 10K miles now...it's nice.

umm.. yeah.. of course some are better, and with a page long list of differnt engines honda has made, some are better than others. thats not saying that a d16z6 civic cant keep up with a b18c1 civic, cause they can, i beat one by 2 cars (135 hp against 210hp) and i didnt think it was possible before. its just how they are built and tuned that makes em good.

nah man u misunderstood the question

i mean are some years different...........like take a civic ex from 92 and compare it with a civic ex from 95. etc and see what makes most power...........im sure there are some differences in the motors.

I don't think there is any difference at all from 92-95 civic motors. But I may be wrong.

i think what he means is did the engines get better over time as they (they meaning the honda engineers) improve slightly from year to year on one engine

the head from a 96-00 is a little better design, but its not a huge overall difference. if you wanted to, you could swap the heads.
