DSM Help Round 2
So my DSM injectors seem to be missing quite a bit. There are 3 differnet rings they are missing, not to mention the little black cap seems to be over the end of all the DSM injector's picturs i've seen. Check this out:

Everything that has an arrow to, my injectors dont have. The 3 rings are just missing, and then they dont have a black cap on the end of them, just a little pin sticking out that hte fuel comes out of. I've gone to quite a few auto stores and some of them have the top two rings (the litle ring that goes at the top, and then the one right below it that's black), but none of them have the bottom most (and the biggest) ring, and i havent even asked about the caps. So!
- Where can i get the bottom ring? Or for that matter, maybe a kit with all 3 rings in it?
- What is the bottom ring made out of? Is it metal or it is rubber like the others? i imagine its metal becasue thast the one you'll need to grind down to fit into the intake manifold right?
- Does that black cap at the bottom come off anyway when you install the injectors? Or should i seek those out as well?
EDIT: and yes, these seem like simple noob questions, but i've never removed my injectors and dont have any experience in that department, so there has to be a first time for everything

i dont know much bout these cause after all the reading i did just sounded like it was just too much work but from what ive read i know you have the grind down the things on the bottom to make the fit into the intake manifold but what they are made of i have no clue. but to get some of those i dont know if you have a junkyard around ya and if you do you might be able to find some in there if not im going to one this saturday and i can try to find ya some. also yes they do come off the injectors cuz thats the rubber thing that fits down into the intake mani and what the injector slips into. the middle ring you prolly have some off your injectors that are on your car now that you could use and the top seals you should be able like you said by them from the local parts store
^ i've been looking and like i said, they have the 0-ring kit and it includes the top two, but then the biggest ring (and the cap) arent included and idk where to look for them. And Tony i know oyu've got some expeirence with DSM's, is that bottom ring metal?
The black cap is called the pintel cap, it is not esential to the function of the injector, most dsm injectors dont have them because they become brittle and crack off. as for the lower oring, i use a new one from the gasket kint for my z6, now of course these are too short, so i bought 4 sall orings from the hardware store. i put them on to the injector with the small oring first, and then the large stock z6 one.
yup, mine came with very top orin brand new, and then i just used the oem spacer on the bottom coupled with the oring from the hardware store, and then i used the oem spacer on top. it worked out just right, just a lil bit of pressure so that it can move, but not so tight that it is squished.
alright man i'll see what i can do....just find a metal ring that fits around the bottom of the DSM injector right?
Forty if you read this, any update on your rings?

I have the three sets of o-rings. The big bottom ones, small top ones, and the one just above the big part of the injector's body. Like cpl said, you should be able to use your stock stuff.
If you do need them, let me know
