Ecu calibration

So if I wanted to swap my auto tranny for a 5spd what would I need to do with my ECU, and is the ECU like the memory of the car or what?

It's the brain You will need to swap in a 5 speed ecu.

If you're only swapping the transmission then you can keep the ECU; BUT it's going to throw a code for the Automatic Transmission Lockup Solenoid. Same motor = Use same Maps.

NOTE: There is a way to disable the Auto Function (Disable Code Easily). See www.pgmfi.org (site not loading for me at the moment.
