Default ECU Mapping/Tuning

Hi,
I really don't know where to put this thread. I went with ECU...

This post is mostly about thinking ahead and the effects of using crappy California 91 octane gas in my soon to be swapped JDM B18C ITR '99 spec motor.

After reading for the better part of the day about if I'm going to have to deal with detonation, and how to deal with it my head hurts. I can't change my ECU to OBDI for a re-map, California smog law says no, and I can't remap my OBDII ECU apparently. I guess I could buy a P72 w/hondata and keep the P73 handy for smog checks.

I can't seem to find the answer to this: Can I run 11.1:1 stock ITR compression on 91 octane without detonation?

Not fun destroying something you just built

This probably belongs in general tech.... Sorry if I offended someone

Solution... ...move out of Cali and run anything you want...

...sorry that I am of no help. Emissions and swaps rarely go hand in hand.
