ECU question

Default ECU question

I got a 2000 civic LX...about 291K on the motor....looking for a replacement maybe even an upgrade from the D16Y7....maybe.....but the question i have is .....is there a difference in ECU's between automatic and manual vehicles?

Yes, the AT cars have like 2 resistors or something like that (at least in the 92-00 Civic range not sure about anything else). You can easily convert an AT ECU to one that will work with a 5 spd motor.

actually i found some info on here also.......its not the conversion but still good info...also since i would keep my own 5sp tranny i should still be good with my ECU. However if i ever had to do such a ECU conversion it would be good to know how....when i find a procedure i will post it.
