ECU question about a 99-00 SI

Default ECU question about a 99-00 SI

I have a friend with a 00 SI and found out that his ECU is from a EX and not form a SI.
Would this mess up how the car run runs? I thinkit would,but i told my friend i would ask first befor
hesould buy a new/used ECU.

Im pretty sure with the extra cam that he would need more a/f ratio

Thats what i was thinking......about the cam part, not the a/f ratio .

Absolutley not.

You're putting an ECU in designed for an engine that has 12* base timing, 75mm bore, poor headflow, and a 7K redline and putting it on a car that needs considerably more timing and fuel, 81mm bore, great headflow and needs all 8K of that powerband.

That's just asking for a very slow, leaned out, short shifted swap.
