Half Dead Ride
Hey
I have a stock 1990 DX civic automatic (I know auto's suck) I was driving down the highway at about 55 mph then all of a sudden I noticed my car stopped running and I was coasting. When you turn the key the motor is cranking but thats it. The timming belt is fine. I changed the whole distributorand wires. I checked the fuel and the pump is pumping fuel. I checked all of the fuses. I'm thinking it might be a Bad ECU but I think that is kinda wierd that it would go bad mid trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has an auto ECU That would work in my car and are willing to part with it let me know.

it's not ur ECU cuz if it was ur fuel pump will never ingaged. first check if u have spark coming out of the spark plug cables. If theres no spark there then check if spark is coming out of the coil inside the distributor. if theres no spark then that means ur coil is bad. but if there is a LIL spark coming out of ur coil the it could be ur ignitor over heated. if theres NO spark then change ur module. if it still dont work let me kno
Ok Figured it out. The timing belt is turning the cam gear but the cam gear isn't turning the cam. LOL the dummy that installed this didn't tighten down the bolt on the cam gear and it stripped out. Perfectly smoooooooooooth. LOL
So I changed the cam gear lined the timing up best I could and turned her over. It started and ran rough. Second time I tried to turn her over she wouldn't start I think I might have timing of 5 deg or so. Thanks for your input though.
