Default Help figuring out ECU code, please

I'm working on a 1994 Civic LX, the engine will run fine for a while then starts surging. The check engine light stays on. I read here how to use the jumper to get the flash codes but the result I'm getting I am having a hard time figuring out.
I get 3 short flashes, a pause then 5 long flashes. From what I have read that tells me a code of 35, or a code 53, I'm not clear on that. There is no listing for either of these cades in anything I have seen.
Now if it is a code 3 and a code 5 both pointing to the MAP sensor, I have already changed that and I still have the problem.

Any insight? Thanks.

did you reset the computer after installing the new map sensor . If you go to Autozone they will pull the codes for ya. no charge.

AutoZone does not pull OBDI codes. You need to do it yourself with a jumper wire.

Sounds like MAP sensor codes 3 and 5. Post a video of the blinking CEL codes if you want them verified.

Your car has an OBDII ECU whereas the OP has an OBDI ECU.

Wouldn't his code be 3 and 50 since he said 3 shorts and 5 longs?

So when you use the jumper wire, what flashes the engine light it self?
