Default High Rev and Running rich

When I start my car it idles reving by itself from 1,000 Rpm to 1300 up and down. Also it is running very rich and has a very strong gas smell. Any ideas of what this could be?

I have a 2000 civic Ex, with headers, cai, exhaust and upgraded ecu..

Is the CEL ON?

The idling problem might be due to a dirty IACV (=clean with carburetor cleaner), bubbles in the cooling system (=bleed system), or an intake air or vacuum leak (=spray carburetor cleaner around hoses/gasket to see whether engine bogs).

As for the running rich, the primary O2 sensor or its circuit could be faulty.

Ya but I really don't know anything about Hondas so I don't know where I'd begin to taking it out.

Haha funny comment, but yes. This is nothing compared to problems the mustang had.

Ebay or Craigstlist for a new ECU.

I just saw a 6th gen ECU on Ebay today, actually.

The installation is generally straight forward, and a tutorial can be found with a simple google search.
