Default Idle ?

i've noticed lately my car has been idling weird. when i put the car into neutral it shoots up to about 1700 rpm than goes back to normal than idles back up. i've had the the cel come up on me because of this. even when i'm at a stop light it does the same thing. could this be a bad o2 sensor or dirty injectors?

i'm not sure how to check the codes with the paper clip. i disconnected the negative terminal. the cel hasn't came back on for 2 days now. i'm wondering if it's an intermittent problem.

does the motor sound like it revs up just like the tack or does the motor stay idleing while the tack is moving. Could be a short in the wire. Try cleaning the PVC valve with some carb cleaner really well and also try running some seafoam through the engine and see if the problem goes away

it could be a vacuum leak......spray carb cleaner on the vac lines and see if the engine boggs down

i just cleaned the screen on the idle control system. i noticed the car is still idling high but not as high. it's running around 1300 rpm before it drops down to normal.

You could try and adjust the idle. Disconnect the IAC motor. Turn the screw on top of the throttle body until the engine slows down to desired RPM. Turn the car off. Reconnect the IAC motor and start the car.
