Default MSD IGNITION question

96 civic ex
i dont plan on installing the msd ignition right now. far as im concerned, i dont need it yet. it was at a good price so i got it...
NEWAY. i cannot seem to find anything as to all that is needed to install it. from what ive found, i need an msd distributor cap and a harness. and the msd distributor cap has aspot in which the ignition coil, in the ignition box, is connected to, thru a wire...i think. do i have to buy a new distributor too? any suggestion plz
i've used the search thing and the explorer itself and nothing is helping....

I'm not sure what you are asking, what exactly did you buy? You need an external coil, the ignition box, either a kit to modify your stock cap or an already modified cap for msd external coils, 8.5mm wires aren't a bad idea either. You keep the stock distributer.

just the box.

i did a lil bit more lookin and added 2 n 2 together.i'd put a different cap thatwires into an external coil. that coil wires into the ignition box...

Yep thats right, I know you can't find much on this by searching because there aren't a whole lot of people running msd ignitions that I know of.

Honestly I can't tell you the difference because I do not know but I am running a blaster coil and it works fine for me. I am also running the same SCI that you just bought.
