Default o2 sensor

2000 ex.... somebody backed into my car behind the drivers door about a month ago. the car went in for repairs two weeks ago and i just got it back. the battery had been disconnected for a long part of the two weeks, when i get the car back ihad to put the radio code back in but the cel was on. it has never been on before and the honda dealership said that the o2 sensor went bad due to low voltage... Could that have been caused by the car sitting for two weeks with a disconnected battery? the car has 70k. im wondering if this is all coincidental or not....
