Default p2e to p28

ive looked and cant really find the answer to my question. im turboing my car and it has a p2e ecu which is OBD2 and cant be turned. for me i think the best rout is hondata instead of a greddy emanage system. to use hondata i need to convert from obd2 to obd1, is there anything i have to do other than one of those little covertion harnesses?

The Hondata system will be 100x better. However, there are other options as far as tuning, all depends what you want. Check out like Crome, ECtune, or Neptune. I have only used an Apex-i VAFC, E-manage, and my current s300.

You will not have to change a thing under your hood, just swap the p28 hondata in (with the correct wiring harness) and you should be set!

BTW, are you looking at the s300, s200, or s100 system?

either way, plain Crome, ECtune or Neptune or using Hondata, you're gonna need an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness. If you have a 96-98, you need OBD2a to OBD1, and if you have a 99-00 you need OBD2b to OBD1. Phearable.net sells them. They also sell all of the Hondata systems and just plain socketed P28's.

Not trying to thread jack, but are the conversion harness' really just that simple? Just plug and play with nothing to change under the hood? I had read something about changing the alternator and a couple other bits of wiring under the hood.

I'll let you know when I get my ECU and Harness in later this week for my 97 EX coupe. I only wanted to remove the ELD circuit and I hope it is just a plug-n-play solution versus plug-n-pray that it works.

look around for any tuning or performance shop nearby. I found one that just happened to chip and program ECU's
but if you can't i would go with Hondata.

yes, that simple. Alternator? I've heard distributor, but i didn't mess with anything when i converted and i'm alright. Except for the IACV, i had to have that disabled by my tuner.

Yep, just swap out the ECU using the appropriate harness and you should be fine!
