Default P2N Manual ECU

I'm converting a HX (CVT, P2N ECU, D16Y5) to D16Y5 w/ Y8 manual. I'm assuming I want to continue using a P2N ECU (because of the VTEC-E), but using the ECU from a manual HX instead of a CVT HX. If I use another ECU, such as P2P, VTEC won't engage at the correct RPM, right?

i am about to do the same, i have read a crapload saying the ex ecu or regular vtec ecu will not run the vtec-e the way it is supposed to run. vtec-e kicks in around like 2500 or 2700 rpms and the ex or reg. vtec kicks in around 45-5500 rpms. but i can't seem to find amanual hx ecu.i know you can make an obd1 auto. ecu into a manual ecu by switching resistors, but not sure about obd 2. so if you find anything else out please let me know as well. thank-you.

d-series.org has an awesome write up on auto to manual swap in detail.

Vtec-e is a two stage vtec system. I don't think it'll work properly.

I had to buy a manual ECU off of ebay (none of the local junkyards had one) and completed my swap successfully.
