red line....

ok..... my red line of course is at 7200 rpm i want to take that off anybady all ready did it on a 2000 coupe 1.6 V-TEC

any opinions?

It's there for a reason... unless you have done some internal and ECU work then it's absolutely useless. The motor will be overworked (and eventually blow) and there is no power to be made higher than that on a stock setup.

i have hearders cat back and intake it's just that when i pass 1 i hit the rev right away and same with 2

polo is rite......ur car reaches its max power at lets say 6600 rpms......going higher is sorta pointless.

not sorta.
an intake manifold, even an aftermarket one, isnt going to allow you to make more power over around 7800-8k, and on a stock mani, its going to be way lower than that, so once you start spinning it faster than stock redline, powers gonna drop off pretty quick, and a few revs over about 75-7700, and youll get a fun little phenomenon called "valve float" also known as "damnit". its a great way to kill a perfectly good head, and maybe take a piston or two with it. you need to upgrade your valvesprings and retainers before its safe to rev over the stock redline, and a bunch of other stuff before its worth it.
