sensor help
any1 know what that sensor right next 2 the knock sensor is called? thinkin that might be the problem with my 97 civic.the engine code that im getting is po117 - engine coolant temp circuit low input. if you have any knowledge or so that might help it would be nice.

Your code may indicate a defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Its precise location somewhat depends on your engine type (D16Y5, 7, or 8).
The picture for the D16Y7 engine is posted here. Let me know if you have a different engine type.

ah the ect i replaced also with the coolant switch right next to it under the distributor. and the engine i got is d16y8. thermostats closed shut also. and just for info would it be a wiring problem? i just added the piggyback system from edelbrock.

Yes, CEL code P0117 could also be due to a short in the ECT wiring. The other attached picture tells you how to troubleshoot a potential wiring problem.
