Default Venom 400

Hey,

I was thinking about getting this venom 400 module for my civic, but need some help on this. Has any one ever tried it, does it deliver any thing? It's like $300 on Jegs, but I can get one on Ebay for 150, so some what of a deal. Here's another question, they say it will fit civics 92-95 w/o a vtec, and then it will fit a 92-95 civic with a 1.6l. What ta hell is that supposed to mean, I don't know if it will work with my 93 1.6 vtec or not! Can some one tell me if it will work, and if it is worth the 150$?

Thanks for your time fellas!

Hey fast93civic, I was just going to post your question, but I suppose I'll just wait for someone to answer. I was just looking at the Venon 400 last night on prostreetonline, for $325, so you're $150 deal is a bargain. I would like to know if the horsepower gain claims are true, I've heard good things, but want to talk to someone who actually has it on their car. I'd like to put it on my 2000 Civic, in addition to intake and exhaust.
Mind if I ask what you've done to your civic??

hey telecasteriv,

I posted on venom in another area, and one guy said (not from experience) that the more things you do to your engine including venom, the bigger over all gain you'll get. I heard a lot of people on other forums talking **** about it saying it doest do any thing, I think they're ricers. From my reaserch I heard it gives you a good boost of torque, like 20 ft/lbs and about 5-10 HP on the top end. Im doing quite a few things to my engine next spring. Here's the list:

AEM V2 Cold Air Intake
Holley 68mm TB
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Spark Plug Wires
MSD Blaster 2 Coil, and MSD Super Cap
AEM or OBX Fuel Rail
Venom 400 Performance Control Module
DC Sports Ceramic Header
Zigen Stainless Steel Cat Back Exhaust
AEM Cam Gear
Increase Compression Ratio 10:1

I think with these mods, and venom 400, the car should haul *** pretty good. I estimated the HP to be around 160-165, and torque about 145 or so. Honestly I think venom is made more for torque gains than HP gains, but we'll see. When I install venom in the spring, I'll give you a holla and let you now if it's worth it. By the way, check out Ebay for some good deals.

it sounds like a beast, but with all that done, your stock cam will choke your car bad. look into an aftermarket cam. dont go too crazy, or you could have valve clearence issues, as well as stock valvespring issues. a stage 1 should be sweet.

fast93civic,
wow, I wish I could afford to do all those things your going to do, you should have a blast doing them. Right now I'm just running a CP Cold Air Intake, and a Genie cat-back. Next is some sweet Ekei 16 inch rims w/ BF Goodrich G-Sport tires, then it's the ceramic headers and last but not least, the Venom 400. That's probably all I'll do to my 2000 Civic. I'd really like to get the new 2005 Civic SI, and tweak the hell out of that for some real horsepower, but that's down the road.

telecasteriv,

Yeah, its a list of mods, and it's also a lot of green. But you have to use Ebay to your advantage. Probably 90% of parts Im getting will be from Ebay. Also, that Holley 68mm TB I got, well that retails from websites like for $420, I got that on Bay for $200, NEW! So basically you gotta look around for the best price.
