[size=3]Hi I know theres threads on vtec problems, but im not sure if ive got the same prob as them or not??.

I own a (1999) ek 1.6 vti

It revs high, but the only change between vetc/non vtec is a slight change in sound, theres no real change in power, it does go to 40ish mph in first but it just rev to the redline and then u have to change up.

When I orignally had the car it acted like a turbo car i.e. spooled up then shot off in vtec mode, but since I replaced the exhaust it just rev straight threw. I was told by someone on here that it acted like that cos the exhaust was shagged, which is fine.

But now a mate says that it should kick/I should be able feel the change (like a turbo) when it goes to vtec mode, is this right ???.

Could the problem be to do with the fact that: Its running the factory air box with a full cat back s/s exhaust ??, Or could it be cos the exhaust is loose and rattles ???, Or cos it havent had it serviced lately (since Dec06 at least)???..

I will check the oil again, but only filled it up the other week and as far as i can see no light come up on the dash to show somethings wrong. Im not very tech minded so wouldn't know if things are blocked etc.

Can anyone give advice please???...[/align]
