the only reason that i could see that a mini-me swap would be bad, is because, obviously, non vtec blocks arnt made for vtec. So when u do the swap the vtec cams dont get the oil they need and after awhile, become kinda undependable and some problems will probally occur. if it were me, id probally just do a complete swap, just to avoid some problems in the long run

hell, sometimes things pop up on a stock one. and we all give up a bit of longetivity in the name of power and speed. i mean does anyone think their honda will last just as long with a turbo or SC, than it would if it was left stock, even if nothing goes "wrong"? not a chance, everything you do for power puts a little tiny bit more strain on the engine, so it simply wont last as long, though some things take away a lot more life than others.
