Default ??D15 Head on b18a1a shortblock??

Hello,
I have a 91 EF 1.5
Is it possible to put the stock rebuild head on a b18a1 short block and stuff it back into the car?
What problems would I run into if this is even possible?
Sorry if this is just another dumb ? I am new to this whole Honda experience.
Thanks,
D Rainer

you cant mix match block letters (D,B,H,F etc etc) and also you cant put a SOHC head on a DOHC motor

hey civtegra yes you can put a SOHC head on a DOHC motor
cause i have a dohc head on a sohc

its a zc head on a d16 series block...it was just hard as hell to time...you gotta use your head on it though you start from dead top center of the pistons and then go from there..

you just gotta make sure the block will line and all........i guess u could say i got lucky

dohc zc head on a sohc block......machining required for the upper left headbolt location. block needs to be retapped for middle upper headbolt(zc headbolt longer than sohc and different thread pitch). ive dont it before and its really not worth the effort. side affects being low compression(if not coupled with dohc zc pistons). head gaskets are almost identical aside the upper left headbolt location on the head. i still have the block laying around somewhere for this conversion. tossed the set up for obvious reasons, it was crap. although the head design might make for a good turbo motor, but why not just get a complete dohc zc. machining costs alone are amost as much as buying a complete zc. id also like sto see you put a sohc d-series head on a b-series block. headbolts will not line up, head is physically smaller and will not cover coolant pasages nor oil galleys properly. these are things ive tried while being bored at home. i also have access to a machine shop where i can do the work myself.
