b16 for my dx
Im wanting to get a motor swap for my 95 civic dx. I think I want to put a b16 in it. Im also wanting to turbo it too. Now can I use my stock motor mounts and put the b16 in it or would i need to get new motor mounts too?? and will i have to switch tranys if so what kind of trany should i go for that is worth the money but doesnt costs several grand just for the trany or can a stock 1.5 trany bolt up to a b16
Here is a chart that describes how well a swap will fit into your car....it is kind of self explanatory just read it.....this helped me alot too. and about the tranny.. your 95 probably is running a D15 sohc right, and you are going to a B16 , so NO it wont work. If you want a good tranny i would go with one from an integra, the YS1 tranny has LSD so it has an advantage even tho the ratio is quite small, the LSD makes up for it.
Level 1: The engine bolts in using stock Honda or Acura components, with no modifications to the car.
Level 2: The engine bolts in with the aid of a kit from compaines such as HASport, Place Racing, or HCP. This may be a little more expensive but the amount of work is comparable to level 1.
Level 3: The engine bolts in with the use of a kit, but requires some modification to the car, such as clearance of engine compartment modifying the cross member, etc or rewelding the mount locations.
Level 4: The chassis requires extensive custom modification to recieve the engine.
