b16 swap

b16 swap
If you have a d16 with a automatic transmission, and you swap a b16 with a manual in it. what would i need to buy to make it work? And also do you need a set of motor mounts to fit the b16 in place, or do the d's work?

RE: b16 swap
Well, what parts does your swap come with? I know that you'll definitely need a pedal set and a shifter/shift ****/shift boot, but other than that, it depends on what your swap package comes with. And just so you know, b16's feel exactly like d16's under about 4,000rpm or so from what I've heard, so don't expect much. Then again, it'll probably be a lot quicker since you're swapping your transmission, too. And I'm not sure about the motor mounts; I'd assume you need new ones, but I'm not positive.

RE: b16 swap
will the pedal to throttle conection be the same, or will that have to change? And is a clutch master cylender and a clutch slave cylender the same?
this is what it would come with

RE: b16 swap
I think if you keep your stock pedal set and just add a clutch pedal (you'll have to cut down your brake pedal), you don't have to do anything with the throttle connection. If you swap in a full pedal set, you have to get a manual throttle connection. And slave and master cylinders are two different things.
These might help a little bit:

RE: b16 swap
what year is your car, because that swap is obd0. if you have a 92-95 civic your car is obd1. if it is a92-95 civic than you need the rear mount and l bracket, and i think the drivers side mount to put the b series in. the tranny mount is the same for manual d and b series.
to swap from auto to manual you will need to cut the spot welds on the trannybracket on the frameand move it a little for the manual tranny mount to line up. you will need the shift linkage, pedal assembly, shifter, clutch master cylinder(on the firewall), the clutch slave cylinder(on the front of the tranny), lines, etc.
