why not just build the motor you already have? boost???

As for your question and money was not an issue then I would go with a B18C build the **** out of it and boost the hell out of it.

+1 on keeping the b16. B16's love boost; honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the b16 as far as swapping it in, but if you already have it, it's a decent platform to build.

And if you have the choice between a b18c and an ls/vtec, go with the b18c every time. You can build an ls/vtec to run at high rpm's reliably, but the properly built ones are few and far between; the ls rotating assembly is meant for the ls's stock redline, and I see so many people revving them high and wondering why they have problems.

Which is why I currently shift at 7k when my redline is set at 8.5k. At least until I install my ARP rod bolts sitting on my couch. The final weak link of my block, then here I come 8k!!!! lol

What about a turbo setup? Like I said, b16's love boost. Think about it, you could spend $3k swapping the b18c in (or $4k+ swapping in and making an ls/vtec reliable), or you could spend $3k on a good turbo setup and be at way more power than the stock b18 you'll be swapping in will be at, and you'll have spent the same amount of money. What it's going to come down to is the best bang for the buck

It depends. Are we talking built engines? Stock engines?

The b18c5 is higher comp. and makes more power than the c1.

Personally, for a N/A engine I'd go the h22 or h2b route, preferably the h2b.
