D15B questions.
I just got a 93 LX with the D15B7 16V 102Hp etc... It needs an engine the last owner ran it with out oil and it broke the cam So I want to do an engine swap. Nw here is my question(and yes I have searched please dont kill me :P) on a 16V d15B engine as long as it is a 16 V version(unlike the the D15B8, and D15B1 which are 8V) will it be a "plug and play" operation. I'm not looking for Hp here just MPG. All help will be appreciated...sorry for being NOOB[

There is VTEC-E ... the economy version of it...or the D15B with the three stage VTEC which is also economy oriented on the low end...VTEC-E will be your best bet though...

Ok I've been doing some searching around/. I knew they made the D15Z1 engine. From what I have found you do this swap I will need the engine, ECU. I will also need to wire in the V tech solenoid, and the 5 wire O2 sensor. is that right? what about the tranny? will i be able to use the same one thats in there now? Yet again sorry for being a noob. but atleaset I'm some what educating :P
You will need to do the wiring(Haynes manual has the diagrams) and you can keep you existing tranny. Engine and ECU are all you're gonna need...it's a good idea to change everything that is sometimes referred to as 60K maintainance... i.e. timing belt and water pump...
Thats the heat. as far as the swap goes will i need to get a COMPLETE engine ie exhaust manifold, intake fuel injectors etc... I've got the haynes manual I didn't see the wiring differences. but I ordered a factory repair manuals on CD so maybe that will have it too. \
Thanks for all the help
