well, i had planned to do a mini me swap but i'm too lazy to do it. (the head is still lying on my floor along w/ a bunch of other parts) then i was wondering if an automatic k swap was possible for my civic. i've seen k's in every generation but they've all been manual trannies. i want to keep my car auto because its my chill car, the whole shifting and clutching thing gets old especially through every day traffic. and swapping trannies is a pain in the ***. so if it's possible to do this swap, i'm going to sell my mini me swap
( i think i can get a nice amount for it since the head is ported and polished w/ a jg cam and an aem gear. all brand spankin new) and by an rsx base model motor. 5 gears!!!

 

do you realise how much it wil cost for the K swap??? you are looking at spending arround 5-6 grand for that, and i don't even know if that includes all the labour, well if you got someone else to do it...

 

yeah i know, but i have a friend who can do swaps , and i found a k20 5 speed auto in a junk yard. they want about 1200 for it. i just wanted to have something quick and different. that and i want to shut one of my friends up. he keeps saying how fast his f***ing rsx is, i show the bastard up.

 

you found a junk K20A3 which is not worth swapping in.

 

lol.. i give you credit for the idea... but withen reason.. the k20 is OD2 with an OBD2 tranny.. and you have OBD1.. it very hard to get that tranny to shift and run right.. plus.. RSXs are quick but you can go faster with less moeny doing a B18 swap.. but wanting to stick with the auto makes the swap much more difficlut and costly.. unless you have pockets of money... i would say think of something else... but just one las thing honda auto trannys are not that strong..

If you're too lazy to do a headswap, what makes you think you'll do a full motor swap?

 

i was going to get a buddy of mine to do it. anyways i dont have the car anymore, it was a crazy idea anyways. now im sourcing an h22 for my accord
