Default mini me?

i just recently picked up a 93 civic 4 door. in the process i read the engine code it says d15b7. but noticed it was a vtec. after buying it i checked into it more and found out that its a d15 with a y8 head. from wat ive found this would be the mini me swap correct? now me issue is that it make alot of valve noise def. could use an adjustment but whoever did the install kept the stock ecu and the vtec is not even hooked up. whats the best way to hook up the vtec and wat will i need?

Sounds like you would only need a vtec ecu (P28) and you would need to run two wires to the vtec solenoid for it to work properly.

On D-series VTEC wiring is pins D6 and A4 only, ignore the rest in this diagram
