Default new engine

i just put a rod through the block and i need a new motor. What one do you guys recommend?
I was thinking about a b18 or should i just get a new d16?
What kind of mods can i do to get some pretty noticeable power out of the d16?
If i go with the b18 what will i need to put it in?

If you have to get a new motor you might as well get a b series.
In order to get noticable power out of a D16 you have to turbo it.

what D16 is it?
A D16Y7 isn't really worth upgrading IMO, it doesn't even have VTEC. If it's a D16Z6 or D16Y8 it has VTEC so it's a little better and can be worthwhile.
Any D16 is cheaper, but a B18 has a lot more potential, and is DOHC, while D-series engines are SOHC (except the DOHC ZC). And stock, the B18 has like 45 more hp than the D16Z6 and D16Y8, and like 60hp more than a D16Y7. If you have the money, do the B18C GSR swap.
