Default noob question b16 swap

looking at buying a 92-95 civic coupe and swapping in a b16. when looking for engine what b16 is reccomended? b16a or 16b? and what other mods are needed to complete the swap. i.e. mounts, axles? future plans will most likly be n/a shooting around 180. any info is appreciated. thanks

Default RE: noob question b16 swap

Well the b16a is the del sol and the civic si motor. The b16b is the civic type r motor. Way more expensive, but alot of the civic type r parts are near-race spec already, and should have you really close to your hp goals with minor intake/exhuast/tuning mods. If price doesnt make a difference to you, and your only looking to get 180 hp out of your motor, I would choose the type r, it just sounds pretty dont it?lol good luck with your swap.
