Default swapping a d16z6 into my 93 cx hb...

it's taken forever to get this swap completed but oh well. i decided to do this swap as oppose to all the other options because it was the most economical.

i'm putting in a d16z6 vtec into my 93 civic cx hatchback MT that originally had a d15b8. the old engine is out and i've noticed some significant differences that i'm not completely sure about.

-the upper engine mount is different and i'm having a super hard time finding one that fits.
-the down pipe is completely different. which should i get? and where is the catalytic converter by the way? on the d15b8 its right by the engine. what about on the z6?
-i've already purchased a p28 ecu. what kind of wiring harness should i get?
-does the radiator stay the same?

is there anything else i should know about this swap? any recommendations?

any info will be greatly appreciated.

thanx so much!!!

getting closer to finishing...not like anyone on this forum helped but oh well. thanx anyway = P

-i found the upper mount on ebay. it was super hard to find one that fit because my z6 is made in canada.
-i purchased a downpipe that was taken off a 93 del sol SI. thank you ebay once again. i also know where the converter is now.

I'm guessing that the radiator stays the same.

unfortunately, i still dont know what to do about the wiring harness. i'm thinking of buying new wire and rewiring the one i have eventhough i don't know how or perhaps i should search for one off of a 92-95 SI in a junk yard. suggestions anyone?

you just need the z6 engine harness, then run 2 wires to the ecu for VTEC, i did this same swap and i know a lot of other people on here did, so just let us know if you have any other questions

No, its the JDM D15B, but the actual car is a canadian CX, so it had the 8 valve non-VTEC D15 before, so i just had to wire it up

you can plug in the p28 into your ecu harness, but you need to run wires for vtec and stuff. and you could of just swapped the mount from the d15 to the z6.

alright...why is my driver side axel too short? i broke down twice because the axel will not seat right. Making a right turn over a bump knocked it out of place so my transmission went out.

This swap has been a bit of a pain since the z6 engine i bought is canadian. There's been a lot of rethreading goin on. Now, would this also affect the axels? what should i do?

and mister ef4life...no i could not have swapped the mount from the d15 to the z6. I tried that first and it did not fit at all...completely different since...once again...the z6 is canadian and my cx is not.
