i was just wondering if the newer 1.7 sohc vtec would be a good swap in my 1998 2dr dx, it has the d16y7 in it right now and the 3rd gear sychros are going bad, so i was wondering if the 1.7 would be a good swap with the tranny or would it be better than the d16y8? thanks

I have a 1.7 sohc vtec and it is a dog! My buddy has a d16y8 and stops my *** everytime we race! Hope that helps!

 

you don't swap a d17 into an ek, if anything, do a mini me with a y8 head
