99' DX 1.6L SOHC d16y7 Swaps

I have the 99' Civic DX info in the title above and its an obvious 6th generation and I was wondering what motors would be a good fit. Obviously I want more HP and torque but nothing ridiculous and easy installation.

quick easy install would be the d16y8 it has the most bhp(sohc) for that gen. all you need is motor ecu dizzy and some extra wires to hook up vtec

Thanks and please explain dizzy and hooking up v-tech.

the non vtec distributor bolt holes dont match up on the vtec head so you need the vtec distributor. wiring vtec up is fairly easy.just get a ecu and here is the how to
- Run a Wire from ECU Pin B12 to the VTEC Solenoid
- Run a Wire from ECU Pin C10 to one of the Pins in the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch (Green Plug in VTEC Solenoid)
- Run a Wire from the other Pin in the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch to Ground
- Run a Wire from ECU Pin C3 to the Knock Sensor (Located behind the Block, under Intake Runner 2)

So Just install the motor itself, buy a V-Tech distributor and install it and finally get a ECU. What kind of ECU any Specific?

1. it's VTEC. V-tech makes cordless phones.
2. Don't buy the whole engine, just do a mini-me swap. That's where you put the Y8 head on the Y7 block. You need Y8 fuel injectors (Y7 uses a different flow rate), complete intake manifold, distributor, ECU (OBD2b [1999-2000] P2P). You also have to run 2 wires from the ECU harness to the VTEC solenoid.

So I need:
1. Y8 Head
2. Y8 fuel injectors
3. Intake Manifold (what kind, brand, size?)
4.ECU
5. Y8 Distributor
6. Wires from new ECU to VTECH (Wires?)

4.ECU (p2p)

7.head gasket
8.intake gasket
9. d16y8 engine wire harness

How much performance difference is there between the minime and a full y8 swap?
