Default d16y7 build gone wrong!!!

ok guys let me lay down the info.

d16y7 block
d16z6 vtec head
brand new z6 dizzy
new rod bearings
new head gasket
new zc pistons
.04 shaved head

we put it together and cranked it up. it knocks when i first start it up, but it idles fine. no knocking when accelerating slowly. when i give the throttle cable a quick pull, it knocks again. we double checked the rods, checked the timing, took the head off to see if the valves and pistons were touching. everything looked normal. nothing was touching. what could it be??????? please help!!!!!

is it a knock or a ping? becuase usually when you get real high compression it pings
can you get a audio/video of it running?

txt it to your email, then email it to me, mitchkaren1225@yahoo.com
can you determine where its coming from? top or bottom?
have you tried also to pull 1 plug at a time to see if it stops and try to see what cyl its coming from?

we think its coming from somwhere in the head. we pulled each plug one at a time to check, but it continued making the sound.

idk about the head, did you get it from a person you can trust?
i wanna hear this thing run good, try a compression test see if maybe you have a bent valve or something

the valves are fine. we did the compression test before we installed the pistons. weve checked the head countless times. we tried increasing the fuel pressure and moved the distributor around a little bit. the sound got much quieter, but its still there. the only problem is the car drives sorta crappy. it feels like it has power, but somewhat chokes itself up and doesnt respond too well to throttle. any ideas?
