A guy from sunrise tells me it's a D16YZ. Will aftermarket parts for the Z6 fit a YZ?

I just bought a new civic a couple of weeks ago and have just joined this forum.

It's the year 2000, Honda Civic SPort, coupe, with the 1590cc engine. I'm quite certain it's the non vtec....but unsure how much horsepower it is? My friend has a 1.5 SOHC and thinks my car has more power than his? I've got a bad feeling that it has somthing like <110hp(!). Am I right? I've already put in a cold ait intake, and plan on changing the exhaust syste. What's the best and cheapest way to get it up to about 160hp? Any ideas?

You have the 107hp d16y7, the same engine as stated above. Follow what I have said in this thread with the 98-00 automatic ex intake manifold, transmision, and buy a greddy turbo kit off ebay.

That sounds good. Just found one on ebay and its only £450!! Great....only problem is finding somone to take out my block and fit it (!)...hmmm. Why the EX manifold? WHat about a decat system? How much of a power gain should I get, assuming I'm at about 115 with the air intake....?

Hoping i will still get responses adding onto this post instead of starting my own thread.. but i am at the exact same point in deciding.. I have d16Y7 and have looked at the mini me swap and doing a rebuild/port polish with new cams.. etc.. but the more i get into all parts and tuning mainly.. seems i will be spending more trying to get a 200whp Y7 vs.. just swapping in a GSR.. without risking emissions problems and having to add an extra step of getting my vehicle tuned.. plus it seems from what i keep seeing that the MINI me swap is a PAIN IN THE @ss .. I have seen alot of people throughout these posts asking questions but havent seen any clarification on help with these ,, so im a little edgy about the idea of buying a head and aftermarket Intake manifold and TB just to run into a problem where it might cause issue with my current pick of an ecu after rebuild,, or having it fail emissions when i get my inspection in PA and have to do more work to it later.. so is there anyone who can give detailed specifics on real cost/time spent vs.. HP from upgrading Y7 to just replacing with GSR which is just a bolt in swap package????? Please someone answer this.. everytime i add up cost with tuner issues and labor for Y7 im breaking over 4k .. where if i get GSR i can swap in myself due to way less problems.. and the GSR is only 2900 with shipping and throw in ACT clutch package and still be below 4k with way more future upgrades avail..

The only reason I'd keep the Y7 (Y8 after mini me) would be to keep getting 30+ miles to the gallon on 86-87 octane.

If that wasn't a concern, I would consider a turbo Z6 or D15 + Z6 head. It can make all the power I want it to.

If you need to build all motor and weight is not a concern, I'd go with a H22 or F20B.

If you need to build all motor and weight is a concern, I would go with the GSR or B16.

If I could afford the K20, then **** the rest.
