Default K20A into a 98 Civic?

Im a complete dud when it comes to engine swaps, so I just go straight for maximum HP. Will a K20A have any chance of fitting in my 98 Civic? I think I currently have a D16Y7 and I would like a 2001+ Civic type R K20A engine in my car. If not, what is one of the best swaps you could recommend of ease and maximum power gain. Cheers

k20 = no ease
b16 or b18 = relative ease

here is a engine code chart and hp ratings
http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_engine_codes.html

one of the sites i have found for jdm engines
https://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.php?cPath=42

this might help you out some... "i think" just about anything besides ab-series swap, you will have cut on your car!
good luck!

B series? According to this I have a D15Y7 Honda Civic DX/LX/CX 1996-2000 I think. Wouldnt a D series motor fit better?

you already have a D motor, and if you swap out for another d series, you won't be gaining that much power or torque for the amount of time you're going to have to work on the swap.

Ohh I see, so say a B16B motor will fit fairly easily and give me good power gain?

Well I just dropped my car off at the insurance place, cause it was caught in a hail storm and it has damage on every pannel. Chances are that its a write off anyway so Ill just buy a new Civic Type R

Must be an aussie thing. Type R is like the equivelent of the Si or something like that. B16B is a type R engine.
