Default Matching parts up with mini-me

First off I wasn't quite sure where to put this in, the swaps or in the intake and exhaust. O well here it goes I own a 97 Civic DX (D16y7). I was recently thinking of doing a swap to a B series but that fell thru. So now I am wanting to do a mini me with a y8 head but ive got some questions about it. I already have an AEM CAI if I swap the head I will be geting a Skunk2 intake manifold. It says that it fits all d series engines but im not sure if it matches up with my CAI can you tell me if it will? Second I will be geting a full exhaust including header and high flow cat my current engine "chip" if you will, needs to have both oxygen sensors, but when I do the swap do i need the cat with both sensors and will the same header fit? I was gunna go with the Magnaflow that has both the header and cat in one. I perfer it to be just like stock but not stock at all

thanks

I would not buy the magnaflow because of the fact that it is like $500. Buy a Hi-Flow cat and get an O2 extender to keep from throwing the CEL. I know on the Y8 intake manifold it has the air intake on the side and the Y7 has the air intake on the top. I would look at the intake manifold to make certain it will work.

I found a place where I can get the magnaflow for 350 which isn't that bad. but as far as the intake I will take a look at it thanks

i would just get a megan racing header and an EX magnaflow direct fit cat. you can get it all total for 300-350. That way, if you ever decide to go turbo or something, you won't have to buy another cat and won't be parting with a 350 dollar part.

the skunk2 IM won't match up with your AEM CAI but i'm sure you could either sell it or use some of the pipe and trim it to turn it into a SRI at least that will fit the y8 style IM

i'm not sure what you're asking about the sensors. but i can tell you if you get the megan racing header and EX magnaflow direct fit cat you just put the primary O2 sensor in it's normal-ish location, and then put the secondary O2 sensor in the bung on the magnaflow cat. you'll need an extension wire harness for the secondary sensor since you'll be moving it far away from the original location.

I'm not trying to thread jack or anything, but I to am thinking about a mini-me swap, does anyone know a reputable dealer that would have a y8 head?

P.S. I also have an AEM CAI, and by looking at it, it would be hard to make it work with a Y8. I would sell the Y7 CAI and buy a Y8.
