Default mini-me or b18 ls?

im trying to figure out "for the money" which swap would be sufficient for a decent amount of power over the d16 lx motor... not trying to pull outrageous numbers out of it but more power is never a bad thing right!!! any suggestions or ideas.....

The best thing you can buy would be a tranny out of a 92-00 civic ex,they have shorter gears and will pull anywhere from .5 to .8 seconds off your 1/4 mile times alone, then after that get a D16Y8 intake manifold. You should be able to get all that for around $400.A LS swap will cost you anywhere from $1300 to $200 depending on how good you are at finding parts and if you install it yourself. For the same price you could have your D16 non vtec pushing pretty good power. Also dont let people fool you into thinking a sohc vtec is better than a non vtec cause it simply aint. The non vtecs have a much more freindly power band vs the high rpm peaky tq curve of the vtec engine

Any other questions you have holla at me cause I have been building and boosting D series engine vtec and non vtec for a while now.I have no doubt there is not one question about a d15/d16 and a civic chassis I cant answer for you

the mini me is cheaper but if you want more power than go with the ls with a gsr head.

why a GSR head

B16 head > GSR head plain and simple,no way to get around it

i would argue that point if we were talking quench pad design. but i wont argue that the b16 head flows better.

A D16Y8(ex) transmission will pull anywhere from .4 to .8 seconds off your 1/4 miles times and it will feel tons faster
