Default Some help is needed here

Okay so this is the deal sometime this summer I will be swapping a B-series into my 98' ex. And I was origionally going to do a B16 but then I decided maybe I would like to just go with the B18. So I need some help choosing what motor. And also just out of curiosity can someone explain the differences between all the different b18's and also which one will plug right in as far as wiring? Or is that evan possible? My next question is if I plug the B18 into my D-series speedometer will it be way off? Oh and which B18 came in which integra? Oh and which one will be the biggest bang for the money?

How much money do you have to spend, you might be able to make a B16 faster and beefier than the B18 for about the same price.

And you could potentially make a D series faster and beefier than both of those, for the same or less.

What do you plan to do with the car? Drag? Auto x/road race? Both? What's your goal power?

Well the car is going to have a main job as a daily driver with the occasional weekend at a drag strip. I would like to stay off the bottle and not have any sort of boost. I want all motor, and I want it to be reliable so it will be just bolt-on mods. And my budget will be about 2500 to 3500$ roughly give or take a few dollars

Im with Keda, I have a D16Z6 and I know for a fact that with 3000 you can be a high 13 low 14 car. They are also really reliable and you can swap moslty anything in a d-series motor. Since you wanna go all motor, I've heard that a Zex cam would work wonders. Also you can get a ton bolt ons for the D16. D-series motors are really impressive, It also makes a lot of people WOW when you beat cars they think will own you. Before you make any decision, I suggest that you do a ton and a ton more of reading and homework on all three of these engines. No one on here knows exactly what to tell you and we are a very opinionated bunch. I think you should read up and decide which one is best for you. Once you decide, then ask about what you should do to the motor. Since its going to be a daily driver, I dont think you should be looking into Stage 3 things like the Crower Stage 3 Cam and Valve Set up, or a 6-puck Clutch. I personally learn more when I research myself. It also makes decisions come a whole lot easier than when others think 10 different ways than i do... good luck

if you don't want to boost it, i would go more towards the larger displacement of a b18 or b20 vtec frankenstien. you could get either a b18b or b20 block, and put a b16 head on it, as long as you don't rev it up way to high, then you would be fine, but if you want to rev it up high, look into a b18c gsr motor, but they are expensive.

or you could build up your d to be bullet proof, for about the same price as a swap and bolt ons

I'd vote for the F20B or a H22 for an all motor drag application. The F20 has lower gearing than a H22, if I remember correctly, and comes with a LSD trans. However, the H22s power could probably over come the gearing the difference once built, and an aftermarket LSD could be added to it np. (Some came with LSDs stock, but they're kinda rare from what I've seen.)

Not something I've research a whole lot, but those two definitely strike me as your two best candidates. Good luck researching.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE D. Get a D16Z6 motor, get some SRP Pistons and Eagle H beam rods, then boost it. You will be able to run 250 WHP and drive the thing to work every single day.
