"super" chips?

Has anyone tried the chips in the 93-95 civics? I gotta a 94 coupe w/ the 1.6 VTEC, and was wondering if the chips on eBay are worth anything. Just looking for a bolt-on to increase my pep a little bit. Any opinions are welcome. I just don't want to waste my money...

Yeah seriously. Read some of the feedbacks and you'll see those things suck and can actually do damage to your ride.

We've had discussions about those chips on here before (if you do a search) and you only get what you pay for. You're much better off going with a name brand chip. BTW, I don't believe a chip will do much for a stock engine. I wouldn't invest in a chip unless I had a few mods done at least.

what's a decent chip cost? I see them from $5 to $50. And then some of them talk about getting your ECU reprogrammed. I was just wondering. And no I'm not starting out with an el-cheapo. I know to stay away from those. I was wondering about the nicer ones. And which ones to try to get.

would this be what I'm looking for?

this would be money well spent if its worth it...

thats the right idea... i dont know if i would trust them. but you do need to replace or burn a new chip into the pcm if you want a real chip and real power and no damage.

i got one of those chips from ebay and it was a piece of ****....my mechanic, that knows how to do everything couldnt even do it...he said if he put it in, which it would have been in the air intake, it would have messed up the numbers on the ecu so its a no go most likely

"IN THE AIR INTAKE"? Never heard of a chip going in the air intake. I wonder how an electronic device (chip) connects in the air intake? I think there's somethin wrong with that picture! (Someone on eBay selling these fake chips and telling people to throw them into the tailpipe will be next.)

it sends the computer into open loop. sometimes that will send more fuel and air into the engine.
