I have a 1990 civic dx sedan 1.5 lt I'm lookin to put in a vtec but not sure what to look for. I hear you can change the head to a vtec and just get a few extras like the ecu and others can someone help me with this problemand if you can change the head and ecu can you give me a list of the proper vtec head and a list of all the extras i will need. Thank you

Go to the diy section of this site and look for "mini me" conversion. Final Impact has a great step by step procedure, with parts list.

 

92-95 d16z6 sohc vtec head and distributer, intake manifold, thrttle body, and p28 ecu.

some of the extras will be new head bolts (your supposed to replace them anyway) a 88-91 civic SI throttle cable, an injector resister box if you use obd0 injectors, new head gasket, timing belt, waterpump, and some other little stuff like rtv sealant and little misc parts.
