So how many miles before you are supposed to replace the belt? On a 96 Civic, not a Ford.

i would recommend at least every 80k. you can go a lot longer, but its not worth the risk. and if you ever have one with over 30-40k off for anything else, just replace it.

It really comes down to how you drive and what you have done to the engine. I agree with Sacicons, every 80k is a good number to go with. I personally have 75K on my civic and changed out the belt at 60k. Being turbocharged, I do not plan on taking a chance on a $20 part and risk spending several hundred when it breaks.

wow. where do you get them for $20? mine was like 105 shipped on ebay, but that was with a new water pump too. but when i bought one for my b16, it was like $60. and yeah, 100k km is about 62k mi. so lets say 60-80k. ive seen em go 150k+, but i dont want to risk my motor to save a few bucks.

Sorry, I was off a bit. Autozone $27.99 plus tax, "For my 99"

$21.99 for the 96 Civic.
