97 DX looking for best engine swap
I have a 97 DX hatchback with the original B16 and only has 96,000 miles. However, I am looking to start now on an engine build, so by this time next year I will hopefully have all the parts gathered and the necessary machine work/assembly completed on the engine.
My question is what will be my best choice of engine for this car? I am not too concerned about a budget so long as I keep this build under 10grand. I am just looking for the most possible horses, whether it be N/A or turbo. What additional parts should I consider to complete the swap? I want to make this hatch as fast as possible but still keep it as a street car, possibly daily driver. Also, what are my options on tranny that will hold up?
Sorry for all the questions, I am not new to Honda (owned one since 16) but I am completely new to engine swaps or modding. Thanks for any and all opinions, just please be detailed as possible.

97 dx has the d16y7 not a b16. Anyway you could swap in a better d like the d16z6 have it built and turbo it for well under 10 grand. You could swap in a b16 and have it built and boosted for a couple grand more than the d16z6. Research alot more before you get to involved but the only way to put down alot of power with a honda motor is to turbo it.

no, and probably not

Single cam can be built to rip for dirt cheap. You could easily build the head for the money you'd save not buying a b-series and put yourself over 300whp on pump gas. Tires, wheels, mounts, traction bars, and shocks/struts would be pretty necessary to keep power to the ground. Then again if money isn't an option, b-series are generally much better bases for a build.
