I second the B16A1.

Its got a great head, and low compresion, which is good if you plan to go turbo.

www.sunrisejdmmotors.com , this is probably the best site youll find for motors, as nealry anyone here will tell you.

its an easier swap than others, and its cheaper.

..."Easier" essentially meaning a direct bolt in with some wiring changes

you want to find one that is in your same obd year or higher it will be a lil bit easier on wiring

The B16A1 is as good as it gets for a 4G, since it's originally from the 4G SiR. As is the custom, some of the JDM engines are just stamped B16A, but they're the same engine.

yeah, the intake manifold is the easiest tell. on the a1, its got something written on the top (something about EFI or something like that) and the a2 just has lines.
