Default b16 or b18 swap?

i have a 89 civic and i was looking to get a b18c swap done but then people told me that the b16a is stronger and better the turbocharge. How Much stronger is it really and how hard is it to turbocharge the b18c?

they're about the same. unless you're talking about the B18C5, in that case it's better than the B16.

Neither are better per se except in terms of price and rod ratio which the b16a is supreme The b18c has more displacement and therefore more torque. The b16a with forged pistons and a good turbo charger intercooler engine management system and tune could put 350+ to the wheels everything else stock. Now that is bang for the buck power. Thats my suggestion of course everyone has their own preference. hope this helps.

i would say the b18c1 is the best many people have seen over 400hp even around 600hp on the block. b16 is good but i would say the gsr motor is the way to go.

B16a (JDM) 170BHP @ 8200 with 112lb/ft torque @ 5500

B16a2 (UkDM) 160BHP @ 8200 with 111lb/ft torque @ 5500

B18c(R) (JDM) 200BHP @8500 with 134lb/ft torque @ 7500

Also the B18 revs to 9000,so really just form your own opinion. All i'm gonna say is that i drive a stripped eg6 that's 190BHP @ 8550 with 118lb/ft torque @ 6000 and i wouldn't swap for the world just the noise alone is worth it,but on the flipside if i was doing a eg project car i'd definately stick the B18c(R) in there as it is overall a better engine base to start tuning off.
Hope it helps.

i doubt he'd be getting the JDM b18c. isn't it really hard to find and expensive? we were talking about the GSR engine, B18C1, with 170HP
