B16 vs B18

stfu.
i have better things to do than post *****, youd know if id grace your thread to count it as a place to "post *****".
regardless, if you truly care, go with the b18, have honda will modify....will modify...but cheaply.
Thank you for the very useful post you contributed cryo, I think you helped me choose what engine I want. Leave the post whoring to supersize honestly.
As of right now I am leaning towards b18. Looking on craigs there's one up right now, full swap out of a 97, for 1k. I'm not buying a swap until summer but if I find a good one for a good price I'll grab it and rebuild throughout the year.

Cryo..... don't pay attention to them, they are butt buddies who argue in every thread just to ***** it out.
Now go change that brightness... please..
Dont get a B16 unless you get a hell of a deal....
I hate how all the ricers see a B16 and think its the King of all King's Engine lmao [Not saying anyone in thread... jsut people locally lol]

NOW BACK ON TOPIC
The only reason I haven't really thought about b20 is because I never see them locally to buy. I would prefer to buy an engine locally rather than jdm since I'll save a lot of money. And to this point I have never seen a b20 for sale. Wheres H22, B16, and B18 pop up a lot more often. And the prices are pretty good for them.

H22 VTEC wins. End of story. I would take an H over any B if I had the money to do it right. H trannys arent too great though so I'd want to do the H2B setup.
Just curious, why do some of you prefer a b20 over a b18b and vice versa...they are basically the same thing. All the builds I have seen with them NA were almost identical in WHP and TQ. Only downfall I see in the B20 would be in a boost app. due to its thinner walls.

That's what confused me too super lol. Most of the time I like to ignore your posts because they suck (no offense) lol. Whatever.
The only reason I am probably going to go b18 is cause like I said, I have yet to see a b20 up for sale on craigslist. Whereas b18s pop up pretty often.
PS I'm on my 218th post! I need to slow my whoring down.

b18/b20- is mainly bottom end they have no power really after 5/6k
b16- has no bottom end but has all power after 5k and will pull til 9k
h22/h23- has bottom end and top end, the trans arent that good and costs more $$$ than a b" series to get it to fit into a civic and also weighs more.
now if you can get a cheap b16 and spend some $$ into it, i suggest getting the b16 and bore it out and since you arent going to run boost, put high compression pistons in it and shave the head a little and port it and throw a decent set of cams into it.
the best way for power is to go for the b18c1 or the h22/h23 or the k24

K series is way to expensive for everything needed to swap in. I don't see why the K swap is getting so big. If you put half of what a K swap costs in the end into a GSR you would have some high numbers.
