B16 w/b18 head raises compression and yes you will get more power. B18 w/ B16 head lowers compression (good for boost) and the B16 head flows a little better. This is also known as the poor mans type R because the B16 head and the B18C5 head are very similar and even cast from the same mold.

so b16 w/ b18 head isnt good for boost? cause the compression ratio will be to high? or its fine but i wont be able to run that much boost?

the whole deal of high boosting is getting as much low compression as possible so you dont blow your motor.

high compression=low boost no more then about 8-12 psi depends on the motor

low compression=high boost i know a kid with a b20 block that has been work on and he can run 60 psi all day (i'll to get pics of the motor for you guys)

now thats what i know so far about the whole ideal of boosting because im boosting my b18b1 (which is a ls motor) reason why because it already has low compression about 9:2 or something
anyways if i do ls-v-tec i get more compression cause of the b16 head and i dont want that.

60 psi?! damn thats crazy...yea i figured high compression ratio was bad for boosting...theres a kid here that just bought a integra type-r boosted and he only run 13's...hes only pushin like 4psi

lol cant wait to get mine done right now i have to get the kit for the turbo and im going to save up for the internal mods later on i plan on going about 12 psi(highest boost i'll go) for now on the stock ls and then when i get the money for the internals so i boost to 30 psi. just hope everything goes well.....
