i took an engine out of a 92 integra and put it in a 90 integra both engines were b18a1 but had different wire harness'. i got the engine in but when i go to stat it it cranks turns on for a second and cuts right off. it is getting spark, fuel pump is working and air filter is not on but since the wire harness was different we had to vut the plugs for the distributor but it still is getting spark so i dont think that is the problem. i dont know what this problem is the engine was running before we took it out, we drove the donor car to the house parked it and took the engine out i was thinking maybe the ecu but the ecu doesnt match each other and maybe the ecu that is in the 90 integra that the new motor is in is messed up since it had a blown engine and maybe in limp mode and not let it start. problems can anyone help

 

I would get a obd0 - obd1 jumper harness. And put in the ecu from the donor car and grab the wiring harness for ease sake, not neccesary. You could pin out he ecu and go from there.

 

does the motor have compression?

used original harness and ecu that was in the car that the new engine is in now
