get some high compression pistons and aftermarket rods, then get some titanium valve train components and rev that thing to 10,000k rpms...

as soon as you start to raise the compression you are gonna start to need to run 91 or higher gas or you area gonna risk detonation... um for an all motor street application like 11.1.0, and higher than that and you are gonna have to start running some kind of race gas and will be hard to pass emmisions

I think that pistons come with 12:1 compression, these would be high compression pistons. For about $1,000 you can get forged pistons, forged connecting rods, and performance piston rings. I would go with what rice burner said and upgrade the valve train. If you are planning on going all motor and rebuildign the engine i think you should go with a more aggressive cam. Think about a stage 2 came since it will give you more performance but not harm your idle that much. Usually for stage II cams you will need an upgraded cam. Also, while you are getting the upgraded valve train look into getting oversized valves and a port and polish. However, this will be very expensive. I would estimate that the valve train i just mentioned would cost around $2,000 and that is without the cams.
