What's wrong with the engine you already have?

 

It's a D17 lol. I think I'm the only one on here satisfied with modding a D17 engine.

 

I think we need a new sticky: the mechanical differences between honda engines.

Like k20, d16, d17, b18 etc... not just HP comparisons, but actual mechanical comparisons with specs of the rotating assembly etc and what cars they will drop into. All I've been able to find so far is HP numbers.

But when someone is comparing motors, it's nice to know which motors do best in F/I or N/A which ones are vtec and which aren't, bore/stroke etc....

There is a thread in the swap section but I would like a little more info...

 

The D17 is dirt when compared to other Honda/Acura engines. K20's are the way to go for the least amount of work for the most amount of gain. I mean hell, they damn near slide right in. I have a 02 Civic also...K20 is going in this winter...only thing good about Indiana is time outta the sun to work on your ride. Oh one more thing, aftermarket support for the D17 is weak as well, if you aren't pushing a Si, hardly anyone is making stuff for you.
